Throughout much of the 20th century, Venice was an international laboratory of art, and Carlo Cardazzo was its Marco Polo. The life of the Venetian merchant-editor intertwined surprisingly with that of the great American collector Peggy Guggenheim: he had his mythical Cavallino gallery, she had her house-museum on Canal Grande.

Risen upon an original Medieval nucleus, successively rebuilt in the Gothic Era, then modified and expanded in the Renaissance, in Ruga Giuffa, just a skip and a jump from Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Palazzo Grimani, the 16th century residence of the noble brothers Vettore and Giovanni Grimani, blends and intertwines motives from classical and Roman architecture with Renaissance themes.

The fourth edition of "ArtLab_Artistic residences on San Servolo Island" is arriving at its conclusive phase with an exposition completely dedicated to the works of the five young artists who participated in the residence. Organized by Claudia Di Lecce and Maddalena Pugliese from the Mobeel Cultural Association, this project is supported by the Province of Venice and by San Servolo Servizi.

ImageGian Lorenzo Bernini's Bust of Medusa, displayed in Rome's Musei Capitolini and presumably dating back to around 1638/1639, is being temporarily shown at the Querini Stampalia, in the ambit of the "Illustrious Guests" project, which foresees exchanges of famous art works between the Foundation and important museums, both in Italy and abroad.
