Venice Mardi Gras. Massimo Di Capua’s pictures at Florian
Written by Anna Trevisan

Venice sports once again its gentle and easy-going carnival mask, encouraging the unpredictable playful sparkle of dressing-up. Historic Caffè Florian will enjoy the glee of flaring fancy dresses and pair them with its glam interiors, bearing the aroma of Time, of the Orient, of Malvasia wine, and of Carnival soul’s itself.

Portraits of dressed-up patrons will be on display February 9th to March 9th, pictured as they loiter on their chat. These photographs, realized by Massimo Di Capua, are almost cinematically constructed, their lights and visions reflect those of Kubrick’s Barry Lindon, as noted by Stefano Stipitivich. Curious tableaux vivants render effectively Carnival’s atmosphere, and pair surprisingly well with the history of the most famous café in Europe.
