traviata.jpgThe extravaganza of celebration concerts for Christmas and the new year at Teatro La Fenice lists a number of opera titles alternating traditional repertoire and modern productions, like Simon Boccanegra and Traviata throughout December. From January 14th to 25th we will have the Capuleti and Montecchi by Vincenzo Bellini in a new production by Arnaud Bernard (director), Alessandro Camera (scenography), Maria Carla Ricotti (costumes) on a co-production agreement with Arena di Verona and Athen’s National Hellenic Opera.

 

On January 23rd to 31st, at Teatro Malibran, we will be able to appreciate a new production of Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino, directed by Bepi Morassi, scenes and costumes by the Venice Academy of Fine Arts. Last date at Palazzetto Bru Zane on December 11th with Quatuor Modigliani for their season Romanticismo tra Guerra e pace. On January 25th: Trio di Parma for a family concert.

 

The Venetian Centre for Baroque Music doubles in authenticity and publishes its winter program, December to May. Società Veneziana Concerti lists Massimo Somenzi, Stefano Zanchetta, and Alessandro Marchetti in December, Quartetto Michelangelo in January. At Toniolo theatre, Io Sono Musica 2014-2015 on December 2nd and January 29th. At Fenice, Ex Novo Ensemble on December 1st and 6th. In Padova, a good number of concerts by Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto with Amici della Musica di Padova. In Treviso, the Comunale theatre will concentrate its efforts for December and January on Fresu, Brunello, Uri Caine, and others.
