Felicita’s rooms. Atelier Venezia, the story of a Foundation
Written by Sara Bossi
ateliervenezia.jpgThis story began over a hundred years ago when Felicita Bevilacqua (1822–1899) bequest her patrimony to debutant artist. She wanted promising, struggling artist to have the means to create their art and this exhibition shows who worked in the workshops the foundation sponsored in the years 1901 to 1965. Many artists that went on to be pivotal figures in XX century art have been helped by the generosity of Felicita Bevilacqua and in respecting her wishes, the foundation that bears her name shows today the results of a 120-year-long commitment that finds in the development and promotion of Venetian art its fundamental principles. It is both a memory and a hope for the future generations.
