pattismith.pngItaly and Patti Smith, mutual love. She was one of the first international rock stars that broke the embargo on Italy on September 1979 (terrorism was rampant in Italy at the time) and guest starred at Sanremo with Marlene Kuntz 2012.

She will be in Venice, at Goldoni Theatre, on June 9, with her son Jackson at the guitar.

71 years of age, bony and skinny as she’s always been, frantic eyes, unkempt hair. So what, she’s a priestess of her own mantra. Now, much like then, the night belongs to us.

The sixth edition of the More Festival, the most mysterious, most glamorous event in Venice, opens four days of music and dolce vita on June 7 at Palazzo Bernardo with a house party with French DJ Lewis OfMan.

On the next day, June 8, the More Boat will set sail to San Servolo Island, where the medieval cloister will house an 800-people party with afro dance and international beats.

Mystical sound on the next Saturday at Chiesetta della Misericordia – 400 invitees will enjoy the psyche pop notes of French duo Macadam Crocodile and Chilean Cosmo Gonik.

Grand finale on June 10 with a day dedicated to massage, yoga, and holistic therapy in the garden at Ca’ Zenobio, getting ready for the big party on the same night with DJ Spiller, Marcel Vogel, and Rahaan.

Now on to other appointments. Luciano Biondini and Javier Girotto will perform at Palazzo Grimani on June 16. A peculiar version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures rendered in video art will mix the original score of 1874 with its progressive rock transposition of 1971 at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi on June 7.

Splendid Venice Hotel has one of the most beautiful terraces in town with the perfect view for the White Party of June 21; guests will arrive at sunset.
