Collateral Events

images.pngFighting fear is a noble cause, especially so if the fear in question is as primordial as the one we have for natural disasters, and earthquakes in particular.

Borghi of Italy is a Biennale Collateral Event presented by the Concilio Europeo dell’Arte NGO at the 16th Architecture Biennale.

The exhibition shows earthquake damage prevention techniques in Italian burgs, a peculiarity of this territory. Pictures, videos, and installations tell the story of five such burgs that had been devastated by earthquakes: Venzone (1976), San Felice sul Panaro (2012), Auletta (1980), Amatrice and Civita di Bagnoregio (2016).

Interactive exhibits will guide visitors to understand how villages physically react to devastation.
