Time to reflect. Free thought and hermitages at Fondazione Prada
Written by Mariachiara Marzari

7-8.jpgAn exhibition that is also a refuge, a trigger for a time out from the bewildering panorama of our present. Machines à penser, curated by Dieter Roelstraete, has three protagonists that are not architects nor artists, but philosophers: Theodor W. Adorno (1903–1969), Martin Heidegger (1889–1976), and Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951).

The three can be considered symbols of exile, escape, and seclusion to the mental or physical spaces that foster reflection and intellectual production.

We will enter this dimension of seclusion by physically and ideally familiarizing with places that were dear to the philosophers thanks to exhibits that includes architecture, books, photographs, and art.
